I think I am going to die

Alright, so according to my entries you have been informed how hard I have been training and getting my butt kicked. Well just as I thought that I was getting used to the trainign and was seeing the light at the end of the VERY dark tunnel...coach goes and tells us about an 8 week hell training period. I think I sat there in shock for about 10 minutes and tried to comprehend what this meant. I thought that I was finally going to get used to this pain and concentrate on awesome sets and swimming fast...but no, turns out I need to think and concentrate on surviving. I'm not kidding. I am lacking sleep, I am too tired to eat sometimes and I need to make sure I don't let any of this inturrupt my schooling. So what I was thinking was since this 8 week thing is going to be the only thing that I will be doing for the next...8 weeks, I figured I will report how I am doing or not doing. So since I can barely move right now...and I want to sleep really bad, I am signing off.

Its a Crappy Day Out!!!

Okay when I wake up every morning I prepare myself for a regular hot Nevada Day...but today was a little different. When I stepped outside I noticed something was little different. Then I felt how "cold" the air was (considering cold means about 30 here). I looked up and I couldn't believe what I saw. CLOUDS! I have never been so happy to not see a blue sky that I couldn't stop smiling the entire time I was walking to classes today. Most of you are probably thinking I'm an idiot but you know what? I can only say that you won't understand until you get to a climate like this. I've been begging for rain for the longest time and when I felt a few spits this morning I was SO excited! Last night there was some lightening and I nearly spent all night last night out there. I have been thinking about this all day and I couldn't wait till I got home to write home about this. Okay well that's about the most exciting my day has been...which is a big deal to me. So I'll write later!

"Oh...I don't know him"

Okay well before I explain my title I will do a quick update on myself. I am definately deep into school and it's going good so far. I am always busy and I for sure have better studying skills here than I did in Canada. Swimming is going good as well. I am still always sore somewhere but I am dealing. But I really wanted to write an entry today because walking back from classes I saw this girl wearing a Roots Canada backpack and these guys yelled out "Canadian Eh?" She of course looked around but I felt such a huge need to yell out "Yeah she is and so am I!" I wish I had something on that declared I was Canadian and hella proud! But today just seems to be a reminder-that-I'm-Canadian Day. T
his morning was the funniest though by far! After morning practice (around 7:30) I came on deck and saw that there were Banana Nut Muffins and I was so excited because when I went to Tim Hortons I ALWAYS got a banana nut muffin. So then I had to go back to Paul's (assistant coach) office and while we were walking I was reminicing about Timmy's and I said to him
"Ah I miss Tim Horton's so much!"
and then Paul says to me,
"Oh...I don't know him"
I think that was the funniest thing I've heard since I've been here so I starting to laugh and laugh...then I realize that they don't know what Tim Horton's is here. I felt kinda bad...but C'MON! Thats really funny! So Mommy is sending down a care package that I requested a bunch of Canadian stuff. For instance I wanted some Timmy Ho's coffee to help my addiction, smarties (theirs here are like rocket candies...so not even close!), caramilk, coffee crunch, crispy crunch, OH! and chips! They do not have ketchup or dill pickle flavours! I can MAYBE understand ketchup...but dill pickle?? Yeah unacceptable! Then there are just other little things that I want from home. Okay well I have work to do...so I'll talk to you guys later!

Hella Sore!

Well I am ending my second week of training and I am missing having full bodily motion because I am so sore! I am seriously sick of always having an ache...but I know its a good thing so I deal. Schooling is going good and I am getting through my classes so far. Nothing special happening right now but I figured I would give you guys a little update on my progress. We had a football game on the weekend (UNLV vs. Idaho..which we won) and they had the school tema run on the field so I included some pics for you guys. Fun stuff and an amzing experience...nothing like Canadian sport events.
I have been getting my ass kicked hugely in practices for the last week and I have gone to little sore to not being able to move and everything in between. I can't remember the last time I haven't been sore...so I'm getting used to it. I also wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have to walk everywhere and if my friends would stop poking me everywhere I am sore. Not funny!
So I have a few weeks left before we have our first start up meet and we'll see how that goes, nothing serious but should be a nice ice breaker. OH! This weekend we are having a team camping trip to Lake Mead and we are leaving tomorrow afternoon and we will be having "practice" and playing in the lake with rafts and team binding activites...so excited. We are also sleeping under the stars so hopefully that goes okay...since its so nice here.
Umm I think that about it right now and I have to go hand a paper in and then I'm off to practice...for another ass kicking! Check ya guys later and I hope to hear from you guy that I love so much!

Fremont night

Well it is Monday and my long weekend is almost over and I can't really complain. The nice weekend helped my huge pile of homework. But last night was my favorite night of the weekend. See back home in GP all my friends were going to 99 cent highballs which I miss extremely so I felt a little upset I was missing that huge drunken mess. Here it feels weird to not be allowed to drink so I think I get a little hostil. But my roomate Jackie sugessted that we should hit up Old School Vegas Strip when she's was done work. So naturally not wanting to sit around I said yes. We asked around if anyone else wanted to come with us but they ahd taken off to go find a way to buy alcohol. So we grabbed a couple guys who were left and we took off. I can't even explain how much fun we had. The Old Strip is the one that we usually see in the movies growing up like Honey I Blew Up the Kids. When the kid walks down Vegas and sees the Cowboy smoking and the girl cowgirl kicking her leg. Now though, its all covered up and its enclosed and its only a ped-way. We walked all around and bought a couple drinks, played slots and took in the interesting but typical vegas sights. I'll post a few pictures for you to see. I have to say though. When my friends come down I will show you the places to hit up...funny stuff and just plain fun.

First Week Of School

Well here is my review of my first week of school here in the States. Monday went well and all my classes were just a review of what the classes are going to be; same as Tuesday. But Wednesday and Thursday were when classes really began. I can't believe how much homework I have, but considering I have to take 6 classes I guess I shouldn't be surprised. My courses aren't too bad except that they are all a long ways away and I have to walk so far in the hot weather! But we'll see how that all turns out. Now with swimming and all the politics thats another adventure. On monday we started off the week with a Captains workout where we played a game of frisbee in 109 degree weather...for all you canadians thats 42! Man were we sweating. Then tuesday we had our medical and physicals which was kinda a pain int he ass but we have to get cleared to train so we had no choice. Wednesday we had our NCAA orientation and signed a million papers and then we had a Premier where we had to be introduced to the school and run on a stage...fun fun. Thursday was Christmas and we got our tons of equiptment and gear, and I'm talking a ton of free stuff! Then Friday was our first dryland practice and we got a small taste of what to expect. I kinda felt like I was in a military camp...counting out loud, running, pushups and chanting. It was hard core..but that was just a taste. Anyways I am now having a long 4 day weekend and hopefully catching up on my homework. I hope everyone is doing well. Email me or leave a comment on how y'all are doing.
