Last days with company....

Well now the fact that the school year is almost over is now hitting me as all my friends are making plans to get home. All my friends houses and rooms are scattered with their belongings and boxes cover the floor. I am now starting to get lonely and am worrying about what I am going to do once they have all left me. I have been trying to make time between swimming and studying to say my goodbyes. Sunday I studyed most of the day, then Richard, Rachel (his girlfriend) and Mark (Richard's best friend) came home and we had supper together which Richard cooked. Delicious! I then had to go drop off something at my friend Byron's house. I ened up staying and studying for EVER! I needed to though since my exam was the next day.
I swam the next morning...a little late for practice, but I made it. Let me tell you I couldn't move. I wasn't making 100's free on 1:20...my swim friends will understand that. Andy just shook his head at me and gave me a revised version. It was so bad. I then went to Caleigh's and crashed there until my exam. When it was time we walked to the school because it was such a beautiful day out! The exam went pretty good. I got slammed on one section but the rest went okay. After my exam which ended around 3 I got a messege from Richard telling me about blah blah blah free dinner. I'M IN!! Actually it was an athletic dinner to discuss the future of athletics at the UofL and they invited all sorts of people related to sports at the UofL to attend and get feedback. Well I thought maybe this would be the perfect time for me to voice my opinion about how pissed I am at the school's decison to cut the swim teams funding. But that never happened and we just discused the new facility going in...which is super nice! After the long dinner and discusions I checked my phone and had 4 missed calls! Wow I'm popular. It was Byron asking if I wanted to go bowling. So Him, Rory, Caleigh and I went bowling. I never knew that so many young people my age went bowling. I don't think there was one person there over the age of 25. I had a pretty crappy first game but my second game was alright. The boys kicked our asses but Caleigh and I still had a lot of fun.
After bowling we went to drop off the guys, and their roomates were on the lawn a little intoxicated, throwing rocks into a bucket. They had pulled their all-terrain couch out from the backyard and out it on their front lawn and we just sitting playing this game. We took Cory and dave for a quick ride around the block to entertain them....when actually they entertained us more. We went back to their place and went inside to watch Starsky and Hutch and then after that basically went to bed.
Now I am off to a goodbye lunch..sniff sniff...with Caleigh and Tai. I think that this next week is going to be really hard for me so see all my friends leave. I still might go to GP on the weekend but that's still an if. Okay check y'all later.

Off Again!!

Well to add to my exciting road trip news...I went on another one! Yesterday my friend Thomas and I went on a trip on his motor bike to BC. He enevr told em where we were going so that added to the excitement. We left around 2 pm and we got all set up and took off. I had only been on his bike once before so I was really excited. He has a really nice silver Yamaha, don't ask me to name you the exact model though. We headed west first out to Fort Macleod where we stopped for a quick stretch and kept going where we then went out past Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump, then past Pincher Creek, then past Franks Slide which was amazing. Thomas told me that the mountain used to be Turtle Mountain because it looked like a mountain and they mined in there and then it gave out and collapsed and covered a town. Now there is debris everywhere! The rocks are so huge! From there we went through Sparwood, and then onto Fernie where we drove to an ice cream store but it was closed. But instead Thomas took me up to the Chalet's on the ski resort...and WOW!! Those houses are all so huge and nice. He told me that they are like 3 million dollars! I ould believe it too looking at them! After we went back into town and stopped for a coffee...Thomas had a hot chocolate. We then started home. That trip took about 3 hours out. When we were heading out too we saw Elk on the side of the road. They were so cool. Oh and for Dad, I got home sick for the Charlottes when we entered the mountains. I could smell the change in the sir when we entered them and I got a home sick feeling in my stomach so I really want to go out there again! I can't even describe being on the bike. You get to feel the sir and just experience everything different. The wind is so loud so you just have your thoughts when your riding. I loved the entire experience of that!
On our way home we went by the same towns again but this time I had my head the other way so I got to see everything I missed on the way there. In Sparwood I also got to see the World's Largest Truck and let me tell you...IT'S HUGE!! Its a big green dump truck but its bigger than a house! Then as we drove home, Thomas said we had one last stop to make. We drove through this really small town, one of the many, but Ican't remember the name...maybe Thomas can help me out. Anyways he brought me to a big Waterfall. We were going to go swimming but the sky had clouded over so it was a little too chilly. But instead we walked down to the falls where we whipped out a picnic and we sat on a rock right by the water and wnjoyed snadwiches, cupcakes and juice. It was awesome!! He told me that you can go inbehind the falls if you are brave enough so another day we are going to go back to do that. We sat there for a good half an hour talking and eating then we packed up and started out on our last stretch home. As we were coming out of Fort Macleod the sun was setting and it filled the sky with reds, purples, yelloes and oranges and it was so beautiful...it was behind us and just ahead of us was a huge moon. But what was the greatest was it was cloudy out so behind us was this great sunste and ahead of us is this mysterious moon in the same sky. It was great.
When we arrived into town we decided to drop his bike off and go out for a few drinks. We went to the Duke and while I was there my friends phoned me up and invited me out to Essies because this was going to be the last time we were all out before everyone goes home. So Thomas and I finished up our pitcher and went to Essies where I had a great time! Tai humped my leg one last time and I danced like crazy with my friends. I even got Thomas on the dance floor not once but TWICE! I was quite excited. My one friend Aaron danced with me and we ruled the dance floor! We were spinning and doing all sorts of crazy moves! We did some crazy swing dance moves where I hold the back of his neck and swing my legs from right side to left side then straddle him then he pushes me up in the air and I kick my legs out! I kicked the roof I was so high! Then the coolest move we did was the flip...the first time I kicked someone in the face but the second time was awesome. He wraps his arms around me and I grab his forarm and he flips we around...like off the ground and around! It was amazing...quite the perfect way to end my night! I was so extremely tired and hot! I had swam that morning...and quite a hard practice too...over 2400m breaststroke alone. I also won breakfast! Rochard told me that if I could go the whole 50 m underwater kick then he would buy me breakfast! We were swimming long course and we were doing hypoxic kick with fins. He totally convinced me and pumped me up and I went and made it!! I was so excited! I had never done anything like that!
To say the least my days from Thursday got increasingly better! I enjoyed myself so much that it was quite overwhelming. I'm going to miss my friends so much and I hope they all have great summers and keep in touch with me! I look forward to visits or at least hearing about their great memories from the summer in the fall!

What an amazing day!!

Well last night, after I was still buzzing from the amazing day I had, one of my friends saw me on MSN and started to chat with me. I told him we went to Waterton and told him about the trip. He got so excited because he is a huge outdoors guy...by the way his name is Andrew Switzer but we just call him Switz. So he suggested that we go again today. I was totally up for it, so we arranged our plans and said goodnight. The next morning I woke up and went to practice...I was the only one who showed up! But still mamaged to have a good workout. When I got home, I called Caleigh, because she wanted to be in on the trip too. So I got ready and headed over to Caleigh's where Switz picked us up and we started on our way. The day was just as nice as yesterday. This time I put on my sunscreen and made sure I had clothing that covered up my burns from yesterday.
When we got to Waterton we first went to go see a waterfall that Switz said we missed. We pulled up to the waterfall and immediately got out to see the falls. We then jumped the fence and went down to the water...not to mention GLACIER water. It seemed smart at the time...but when we stuck our feet in there it was dumb. It was so cold that your toes go numb immediately! We jumped on the rocks as much as possible to get as close to the falls as possible. We took the greatest pictures ever!
We then went into town and got some food and bathroom break then went down to the Lake beach to have lunch and suntan. I fell asleep because I had swam that morning and I had the best sleep ever!
When we woke up we decided to go for our hike up to the Bear's Hump. This is a moderatly difficult climb according to the Visitor Guide. Switz assured us that it wasn't that bad and it was only a 20 minute hike. Yeah well what he forgot to mention was it was the steepest hike ever! It only took us a record time of 18 minutes about, but we were so out of breath and sweating when we got to the top! But I am telling you guys it was well worth it! The view from up there overlooks the entire town, lake and prairies. Their slogan for the town is "Where the prairies meet the mountains" and this view shows that. I haven't recieved the pictures%2

Road Trip Day!

Today was an amazing day. The girls and I decided last minute that we were going to Waterton. Where is Waterton? Well I will tell you. It's an hour and fifteen minutes south of the Bridge. It's only 20 minutes away from the US border. It's right in the middle of the mountains and sits at their feet with a lake on its shores. The girls I went with are Tail, Caleigh, and Shannon. We were so excited and we sang the whole way there. We stopped in cardston...a very Morman town, where we got lost....how? Well if you've never been there...it's HUGE! If you have been there you will know I'm lying. We just got turned around and went a wrong way and cruised through the main street pumping tunes...quite funny considering there stared at us like we were going to hell. Once we got going the right way, we finally got to Waterton and it literally took our breath away when we saw the mountans and lake. We stopped to take pictures of the mountains, lake and Chateau placed on top of a hill. We skipped rocks for awhile, saw a gazillion deer acording to Tai, and Caleigh dove in the glacier water...thats right, glacier. It was awesome. We then decided to eat our lunches. We drove up to the chateau but it was way too windy, so we went down below where the gigantic hill blocked the wind. We say by the water and enjoyed our lunches with the company of more deer. We then stripped down to our suits and suntanned and chatted away the afternoon. We lay there for a little too long though anf got kinda burnt. I burnt my back and butt, Caleigh and Tai burnt their legs, face, arms, and other random parts...Shannon covered up enough to not get burnt. Smart girl. We then went into town where we saw a mountain goat. Funniest animal ever!! It almost stuck its head into my car! I almost could touch it! We then headed home with amazing memories and sun burnt. When we got home is was around 5 and Caleigh and I went for a walk and then went to see Tai where we asked her to come play volleyball. We then got together with Tai and Marcy and we peppered for a bit and then I had to go home. My roomate Jeff is heading out to Vancouver and then he's off to Malyasia!! He's scored an amazing job/deal and he's going to be there for 8 weeks! Lucky boy! I wish him the best of luck and hope he has fun. I can't think of anyone who deserves this more! Enjoy yourself!!
Okay so I'm out and I am going to go tend to my burns. Ciao.

Splash that Shit!

Okay before you get upset about the title..you have to understand that this simple but crude phrase made my day yesterday. I forgot to mention that when the boys were playing soccer...one guy...that has a connection to me...but only few people know how. Scored a goal and on running back said to one guy "Splash that shit!". They put up their arms and hit forarms and made a splash with their hands. Caleigh and I just looked at eachother and began to laugh. The later that night Caleigh and I decided to go to the movies. During the movie Caleigh turned to me and whispered "splash that shit". I began to laugh so hard just because it was so funny. Anyways, so that is the reason for my title. The movie I went to last night was The Wedding Date and wow was it amazing. Not only was it funny, but the whole plot was great and I LOVED the soundtrack. I picked out mostly Michael Buble. It was such a great movie and just made my night.

This morning Richard and I got up for morning practice...ouch. The time wasn't the problem though. We both could hardly walk. We limped all the way to the pool and had our fun (but very long) workout...where we continued to go shopping for groceries and had to hobble all around the store. We were quite the sad site.

Now though I have been setting up a ton of cool things for myself. Jeff and I are bonding and he showed me how to set up Flickr. An account where I can shgare my photo's to everyone in a very easy fashion. So you can go to www.flickr.com/photos/norah/ check it out!

Yeah first entry

Hey all,

Okay well this is my first entry and so I have to write something that will be profound and intelligent. Who am I kidding...I am just building to nothing. I created this blog to keep mostly my family happy because my mother's side believe that I should keep track of my university years. This way I can let them know what is going on and plus have a record. So this first entry is just for shits and giggles and basically because I feel obligated to write something since I just started this thing up. Thanks to my roomate Richard I managed it...after a long thoughtful process for the name "Norah's Blog". Thanks Dick.
Just to recap the day...which is a great way of starting my blog. The day was beautiful and very hot. I went to practice with my roomates Jeff and Richard...which we all carpooled in Dick's new car...very nice indeed. We had a nice sprint practice in which I struggled through because my body is incredibly sore from working out lately. After practice, Jeff, Richard, Caleigh (another swimmer) and I went outside to pepper with the v-ball. We played for a while then the men's hockey team came out and had a similar idea to change up sports and brought a soccer ball. They invited us to play...but who are we kidding..me play soccer with 200lb guys who hit for their sport? Yeah right. Caleigh and I sat on the sidelines while my roomates joined in. Hilarious game and quite the sight of very muscular guys running around in the hot sun...ladies you would have loved it. Anyways, Caleigh and I got our suntanning in and the boy had a great game. Today was a nice taste of summer for me and I'm looking forward to more. Okay well I'm off to a movie...later.
