Quick Entry

Okay well this is a quick update. I had SDSU last weekend and we won but that wasn't really a good meet for me because I am injured. I have a strained groin (no suprise there) and a strained tricep and Lat...yeah its fun. Last week I went to every single practice and last week was ther hardest week we've had so far so I guess there isn't really a whole lot to be thinking of when I say I got injured. I think the worst part of this was I got yelled at for being injured. I tried to modify the practice so I wouldn't hurt myself further and I got kicked out. So yesterday I had the whole day off and I would have enjoyed it more if it were under different circumstances. But today we shall see if he lets me swim. He better. This weekend we have 2 swimmeets, one on friday against the Alumni...Oh Mike Mintenko and Andrew Livingston. Then sunday we have a dual meet against Arizona here at UNLV. I still don't know if I will be allowed to swim. He gave me shit for swimming last weekend too...even though I clearly told him I was hurt. Oh well...thats my 10 min update. I'll write more to update..yeah I know I say that all the time!

week 6

Okay so this week has the same old things as usual like pain and sore...but it ended beautifully. Saturday morning practice last week was the worst ever. Mental breakdowns, cramping, and 4 hours of practice...kinda takes it out of you. I can say I never recovered in the start of the week. I think this week was just the hardest mental struggle I've had. But towards the end of the week I hit more bumps along the way...midterms and personal stuff (as always) but everything turned out awesome! I have 2 friends from back home come visit me. Friday night was the one from home town Grande Prairie which we just hung out a bit and caught up on some things missed which was nice. Good to hear GP hasn't changed...lol. I had saturday morning practice which was SUCH a great surprise because it was mostly all drill recovery, and then some sprinting that I would take any day over last weeks! It was so tough but not as tough. I went to see a play with one girl on my swim team called The Gamester. Great play! I laughed the entire time! Its a satirical play on gambling and has a bunch of sex in it that well of course goes along with gambling. Then last night was my friend from Lethbridge and that was fun. I met him over at the Luxor and when I saw him it was great! He looked great and I was just so happy to have some old friends to see. We chatted it up and I got to see his family and meet even more that were all the way over from Britain. He's english by the way and its his uncle's birthday party....in Vegas! So they had a party last night but I ditched out because its his family. But I came back here and hung out with my floormates which was fun. I haven't seen them all week due to school and swimming (what else is new!). Then I ened the night with a movie and sleep. I am now on sunday which is awesome and I may go hang out with my friend and his family,,,maybe go to the mall or some more Vegas attractions. But I think this was the greatest way to end a weekend.
Oh and not to leave a great moment out...I got a care parcel!! One of my great friends up in canada - Caleigh Ellis!!! sent me a package that just made my day. It held all the inside jokes and njust plain fun stuff we had together...OH how I miss her! Thank you LOVER!

Thankgiving

Well I have discovered another crappy thing about living here and that is their holiday's. I am sitting here feeling upset because my body is naturally craving turkey, turnips, and pumpkin pie but no one else is! Then I realize that its Thanksgiving!! I am so mad that I am stuck here in this dumb country when all my family is home eating together and getting a day off tomorrow ehn I have to stay here and swim and go to school and wait a month before they celebrate their Thanksgiving! So I have discovered where they sell a pumpkin Latte and I am thinking about walking all the way over there to grab one because I am hoping to celebrate myself.
So other news is I begin my first swim meets this week with a intervarsity swim meet kick-off. Which means we split the club in two and race eachother...then the weekend after that I head out to San Diego. I'm excited to see how I do and measure up to others. Okay well I am now craving my pumpkin Latte do I will sign off now.

Dumb Blogger

I have been having some troubles here for the last little while trying to post me entries so this is going to be a very general entrie to let everyone catch up. So just last week and a bit my coach told us about an 8 week conditioning period where we are going to get run down and worked hard. So I had a genius idea to keep everyone informed how those 8 weeks would pan out. But I am now almost done the 2nd week here and I haven't written an update on those so here's a little general information. Last week was really hard. It started out pretty normal, nothing too hard but when it hit wednesday the intensity really turned up. The group I really felt bad for was the D group (distance). Their total distance for the week was 6850 m. Ours wasn't that high but I wouldn't doubt it was close. Well lets just say we got worked really hard and I ended up sick. Yes, I know it may be a surprise but I did fall ill. I toughed out the week which I think made it worse. I called Jim on sunday and he gave me Monday morning off, I showed up monday afternoon...I got sent home with the next morning off, showed up tuesday afternoon..got sent home with the morning off, but then I showed up wednesday and didn't talk to Jim and just jumped in with everyone and he didn't say a word. I was SO happy that he let me stay. I felt a whole lot better too. That brings us up to this morning which I almost died because I am still sick (kinda faking so I can still go) and we had to run stairs and everything and I hacked up a lung or two. I still have 4 more practices left in this week so I'll do an update on saturday or sunday...if I have time. Bye for now.
